Ranthambore National Park of India is home to a rich and diverse collection of wildlife. The Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary is a nature lover’s delight. Amateur and professional wildlife photographers will locate lots of possibilities to have pictures of the rare and singular wildlife at Ranthambore wildlife reserve. The dry deciduous forests and scrub jungle across the Ranthambore National Park provide the deer and other herbivorous animals in Ranthambore with sufficient greenery to graze on through the year. The herbivores create the prey for the predators of Ranthambore such as leopards and the impressive Royal Bengal Tiger.
Naturalists studying the fauna of Ranthambore National Park have recorded over 30 species of mammals and over 300 species of birds as resident species. The animals of Ranthambore National Park are native at the dry deciduous forest environment. The wildlife in Ranthambore National Park includes many species of herbivores such as Chital or spotted Deer, Sambhar, Nilgai, Chinkara or Blackbuck and Gazelles. Other mammals include wild boar, sloth bear, mongoose, Indian hare and porcupines. There are also lots of species of monkeys in Ranthambore National Park. The monkey species include, Hanuman Langurs or typical langurs and macaques. Bats flying foxes and civet cats are seen at night. Predator species of animals during Ranthambore National Park include jackals, Jungle cat, Leopard and Tigers. Monitor lizards and numerous species of snakes including cobras and kraits also are frequently found reptiles in Ranthambore. Crocodiles are too seen in the swamps and lakes of Ranthambore and prey on the deer because they come to the edge of the lakes to drink.
